March 13, 2026 Update from Superintendent Dr. Skertich

Kahok Families,
Spring weather has arrived, bringing sunshine and warmer temperatures, even if short-lived, and boosting everyone’s spirits. It won’t be long before we are cutting grass and enjoying much more time outside.
As April approaches, please mark your calendars for the CHS Drama Club’s spring musical, Between the Lines. The students will perform in the auditorium at Collinsville High School on April 9, 10 and 11 at 7:00 p.m. along with a matinee performance on April 12 at 2:00 p.m. The students work incredibly hard and are extremely talented, you won’t want to miss this performance. See the attached flyer for ticket information.
Beyond April, we can begin to look forward to high school graduation and 8th grade promotion, which will be here before we know it.
Please mark your calendars for CHS Graduation on May 17th at 10:00 a.m. and CMS Promotion Ceremony on May 18th at 1:00 p.m. It is an exciting time to watch our graduates begin the next chapter in their lives and to see our 8th graders begin their journey at Collinsville High School.
I would also like to take this time to update our families on two projects occurring on the CHS campus. First, the Collinsville Area Vocational Center expansion continues to move forward each week. Below are a few photos showing the progress to date. The building remains on track to open in August for the start of the 2026-27 school year.
Additionally, phase one construction on the baseball field behind CHS will begin in late April or early May and is scheduled to be completed by the spring of 2027. Work behind CHS will occur over multiple years, with the baseball field being the first project completed. Both the CAVC expansion and baseball field projects will positively impact students for years to come, and we look forward to their completion.
Thank you for your constant dedication to our students. Don’t forget to wear your purple and show your Kahok Pride!
