Maryville Teacher Barbie Linton is November 2024 Kahok Educator of the Month

Maryville Elementary School teacher Barbie Linton was recognized today as November 2024 Kahok Educator of the Month. The award was presented by Maryville Principal Doug Kirk and local Benjamin F. Edwards financial advisor Jason Rehg.

In his nomination of Ms. Linton, Principal Kirk wrote:


I am honored to nominate Barbie Linton for the Kahok Educator of the Month Award for November. As the principal of Maryville Elementary School, I have had the privilege of witnessing Barbie's outstanding work and highly effective teaching style firsthand.

Ms. Linton is a master of her craft. She consistently sets high expectations for learning for all her students. She possesses an innate ability to connect with each child's unique strengths and challenges. Her responsiveness to the individual needs of her students demonstrates her unwavering commitment to their success. Her patience and positive mindset defines her teaching style. She creates a warm and encouraging classroom environment where students feel safe to take risks and explore their abilities. Through her motivating approach, she inspires her students to believe in themselves and strive for excellence.

Barbie Linton is not just a remarkable 3rd grade teacher; she is a beacon of inspiration at Maryville Elementary School. Her contributions to our school are invaluable, and she truly embodies the spirit of this honor.
